Artist Statement

Green jade– for millennia the most popular gemstone in China– is valued for its beauty, its healing powers, and its protective, lucky-charm energy.   In its many forms it is common for adornment in Chinese culture.  Here the carved horse focal pendant is strung with more carved jade and beads of cloisoneé, cinnebar, translucent jade and porcelain.
