Artist Statement
This piece started on location in a cabbage patch. As it evolved, it ceased to be a cabbage plant to me, but rather an explosion of curves, shadows and delicious nuances of green.
I work on site and from life whenever possible, celebrating natural or man-made forms and patterns. My favorite subjects are from personal experience, celebrating the special places and creatures that nurture and inspire joy in myself and others. Though my artwork varies in subject and media, a central theme is bringing the preciousness of our natural world to a viewing audience.
