Artist Statement
Being a grandparent is the best! One glorious summer day I got to spend a delightful afternoon with my grandson, laughing, playing and chasing bubbles! All the bubbles have long since popped, but with this painting I captured the moment and the recollection brings a smile.
Artist Bio
From pastel animal “portraits” in elementary school, to renderings of family and friends in oils today, my art journey has been a long and rewarding one. To capture not only a likeness but a sense of place or moment in time is a special feeling. I have appreciated the ability to learn from great teachers both in person and now via zoom, or YouTube webinars. Finding my own “voice” has been a challenge, but retirement and the pandemic have provided the opportunity to devote more time to developing my own style and has provided a creative outlet for maintaining sanity.
