Artist Statement
“Eclipse in the Aspens” is a metal wall hanging made from up-cycled aluminum cans. I was watching and listening to animals, waiting for abnormal behaviors as a reaction to the eclipse. The deer in the aspen forest barely notice that anything is different at all. They continue their regular routine of exploring, drinking from the stream, watching. The aspen leaves at the bottom of the picture move slightly in the mild breeze, as the temperature dropped when the moon hid the sun.
