About the artist
Shaila began her artistic career after college in Kyoto, Japan studying Japanese woodblock printmaking (moku hanga) for two years with master printer Richard Steiner. After attending law school at Stanford University and beginning her professional legal career, Shaila returned to her interest in art, studying oil painting with Malika Zweig and M.A. Peers in Los Angeles.
Since relocating to Boise with her family, Shaila has continued painting and recently starting working in pastels. In between working part-time as a lawyer, realtor, and mom, Shaila relishes the time she spends making art.
