Artist Statement
Traveling throughout the world I have been exposed to a variety of cultures and customs. One of my favorite ones is ringing in the New Year, or the start of a new year on a birthday, with hiking to the top of a mountain and watching the sunrise to usher in the new year of life and opportunity. This painting was inspired by that concept.
Heather Haley is an artist from Boise, Idaho and has been fortunate enough to travel throughout the world. She began drawing and painting before she could speak in full sentences, and art was her first language. A degree in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology, Heather has always had a deep appreciation for animals and nature. The inability to quench her thirst for adventure, and her insatiable passion for wildlife, Heather uses vivid color to depict scenes from her imagination and experiences. Wildlife and nature are dominate themes in her artwork, as she hopes to inspire movements of conservation globally.
