Artist Statement
From my series called Consider the Lilies, this painting of one of the water lilies at Albertson Park in Boise began as a way to spotlight the beautiful contrasts in these aquatic flowers. The blueish-purple petals enfold a blazing yellow-orange center and reminded me of melted gold, cooling in a chilly bed of dreams. I have two purposes in producing my art: 1) Take pleasure in creation and 2) engage and encourage the viewers wherever they are in their daily lives. I hope you enjoy a bit of my garden today!
