Rainbow Bridge to McCall
Heavy body acrylic, 20 x 16
Artist Statement
Rainbow Bridge isn’t just a landmark on the way to McCall—it’s a memory keeper. For some, it’s “Grandma’s Bridge,” the path to childhood summers, cabins by the river, and moments held in golden light. Their stories shape how I see this place—full of memories, history and love. I was painting with those emotions and thoughts in mind, and I’m hoping the layers of memories and meaning are felt in this piece.
My paintings come from a deep love of color, texture, and imagination—and from learning to let go of the paintbrush and pick up a palette knife. Suddenly, I stopped trying to paint perfectly and began trusting my intuition. That shift helped me reconnect with the joy of creating and reignited my imagination. Now, I paint with more freedom and feeling -allowing each piece to unfold without expectation and in full expression
