A Crane’s Day
Oil on Canvas, 54 x 42
Artist Statement
As a child, painting clouds felt like capturing fragments of the sky. Their shifting shapes turn every brushstroke into a race against time. Clouds offer freedom: no rules, just soft blends of white and blue, smudging dreams into shape. It isn’t about perfection but possibility, a secret dialogue with the heavens. Each painting was a way to hold wonder, to freeze something fleeting and make it your own, if only for a moment.
Art has been a lifelong journey for me, shaped by photography, ceramics, and painting. From early darkroom work to oil portraits, Raku-fired masks, and pastel studies, each medium opened new paths. My work seeks to reveal emotion, movement, and mystery, offering glimpses of the unseen. I am currently painting a series of clouds that reflect a life long infatuation. Who isn’t moved by the beauty of majestic clouds?
