Artist Statement
This piece is a meditation on freedom. The size of the sky and the road that seems to go off into an endless horizon give the feel of being on the road with the wind in your hair. Cars and travel are an integral part of the American West and I think that feeling, that atmosphere, that experience is presented here.
Lou-Ann Couch has lived in the vibrant art community of Boise Idaho for over 40 years.. She has drawn since childhood and illustrated two books in her thirties but had to put her art career on hold to raise a family. In 2017 she restarted her vocation by creating pet portraits but soon found a love for abstract art! Her many works are all about the joy of living.
