Riveted Patina explores the power and beauty of aged metal, evoking a sense of time, transformation, and resilience. It blends industrial with the organic, using rich textures and oxidized copper tones to suggest weathered surfaces touched by the elements. Its welded edges and riveted seams reflect the craftsmanship of industrial strength.
Born and raised in Alaska, Kristen’s work is deeply influenced by her years of commercial fishing. She paints primarily with acrylic on canvas. Drawing inspiration from the ocean, nature, and the rugged beauty of industrial metals, Kristen creates a variety of artwork involving layers and are often highly textured. This powerful intersection of nature and industry has inspired her to have an ever-evolving exploration into a variety of subjects and textures.
