Artist Statement
Looking across a moment of time-a moment of stillness-in the shifting morning light. The heat is rising and clearing out the morning dew. It is beginning it path of heat and brilliance in the summer morning sky. This moment is made of fragments of time, place, movements and memory. I digitally layered a mixed media collage painting with an intentional movement photograph of summer light and wind on watercolor paper. Painting it for a finish.
I am an artist who paints stories that speak of time, place, and nature. My artwork is a contemporary fiction composed of fragments of thought, place, time, emotion, and dream. I am primarily a painter, but tell my stories using printmaking, mixed media, photography and digital artwork. Each work is always finished and painted by hand. I have a BFA, MA, and MFA in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking
