Naiad’s Triumph
Oil on canvas panel, 20 x 20
Artist Statement
Plants that can survive the power and punishment of the spring high water, thrive in the warm bounty of late summer. I enjoy the contrast of wet and dry rock, greenery above and below water. This is where the naiads live and it is time for their summer celebration. North Fork of the Payette River. 60 CFS
I work on location and from life whenever possible, celebrating natural and man-made forms and patterns. My favorite subjects are from personal experience, celebrating the special places and creatures that nurture curiosity and inspire joy. Though my artwork varies in subject and media, a central theme is to rejoice in the preciousness of our world.
