Pipe Dreams

Artist Statement
This is a hand-colored, hand-printed linocut. I carved the image out of linoleum, printed it onto white paper, and colored it in with watercolor and gouache. I love the words “pipe dream.” They make me think of images
that are colorful and exotic. In this image, I drew a large floating pipe over an elephant and added lots of simple flower designs.
I’ve used a variety of linocut techniques in my work this year. It’s been fun creating these unique images. And I hope I’ve brought a lot of joy and light into the world!
