Artist Statement
Layer by layer and line by line the green strata of the land form and stay until the summer sun bleaches it blonde like the hills and foothills. Strata Verde is a mixed media abstract landscape composed of a strata of memories about the awakenings of spring on the land.

Its scenery is built up as much from memory as from layers of rock.”” Simon Schama In these imaginary mixed media landscapes I am mixing together memories about the spring landscape out here in the West to create the feelings and communications between the elements land, sky and water as winter shifts into spring. Each work is made from combined fragments(memories) of my paintings edited photos and drawings.
