Artist Statement
This is the Sapphire mineral pool in Yellowstone Park. Seeing it up close during my 2022 vacation there was a wonderful experience. It inspired me to write this poem:
This crystal pool, so beautiful and blue,
What lies within your depths?
What secrets have you long since kept?
What thermophiles do state your cause?
Your beauty locked in heaven’s applause
Your beckoning warmth draws me in
And gives me strength to begin again
