Life is But a Stream
oil on canvas
A stream is a continuation, a constant flow with a clear destination. The movement is defined by altitude, depth and obstacles. Though the water is in flux, as has been society these past many months, our collective path doesn’t lead to a haven.
My art uses observation based subjects as a way to stay intimately connected to life in each moment. Some spiritual themes are symbolic of my feelings concerning my role within the world.
My work throughout time includes several subjects including people and pets. But my love of the outdoors is revealed in my periodic return to the topic of landscape. As I experience the broad vistas in Idaho a wider view can be seen in many of my present paintings.
