Artist Statement
If the American Mustang is dying off, which it appears to be, what will happen to the Mustang trainer? This piece shows the consummate Mustang trainer demonstrating his rope skills in the vortex of the modern age, which threatens him to extinction almost as much as it does the Mustang itself.
In the words of the poet Rumi: “Who gets up early to discover the moment light begins?” The wild creatures of our world do. I am committed to honoring them with photographs.
