Try to Sea
Oil on canvas, 16″ x 12″
Endangered species populations often have a very slow recovery, yet many have had a rapid decline due to human impact. In this piece I chose to encapsulate the slow movement of a sea turtle through water, and I ask humanity to ‘Try to Sea” what is happening in the oceans around us. The path of recovering our oceans and this beautiful creature is a long and slow process only made possible once everyone can Sea.
Heather Haley is an artist from Boise, Idaho and has been fortunate enough to travel throughout the world. She began drawing and painting before she could speak in full sentences, and art was her first language. A degree in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology, Heather has always had a deep appreciation for animals and nature. The inability to quench her thirst for adventure, and her insatiable passion for wildlife, Heather uses vivid color to depict scenes from her imagination and experiences. Wildlife and nature are dominate themes in her artwork, as she hopes to inspire movements of conservation globally.
