A Change in High
Oil, Acrylic and Pastel on Canvas, 36″ x 48″
The Land has gathered its vibrant colors, beginning its Spring display of color and form. The River, rushing ever-changing moves forward reflecting, creating and telling its own stories along the River Bank.
I paint large abstract landscape paintings. I combine fragments of memories, elements of different places and times and then combine them together. Often I will choose contrasts in my choices both as a starting place thought and as the painting develops. Vivid colors, active form movement and a free flowing painting style often occur. But within that context I aim to have a peaceful meditative creative story about the essence and change of nature.
