Oil on canvas, 20″ x 16″
My art is a refuge from the world. When I am painting all else drops away. Feeling especially tired of the bombardment of bad news and turmoil at every turn, I sought for a subject that could bring me peace, not just while painting it, but upon looking at it afterwards.
Painting during the pandemic has been a great outlet for me to retreat from the world and lose myself in the creative process. I’ve focused on things of the natural world–animals, plants, landscapes–that give me a sense of peace and comfort. I hope you find that as well in these pieces.
