While Waiting for the Peloton
Oil on canvas, 12″ x 24″
I enjoyed a cool and hazy June morning, alone but for a few chatty birds. Frequent wind gusts threatened to take my canvas away. I thought it a marvelous way to spend time beside a lonely bend on a country road, while I kept an eye out for a bicycle race to appear and then buzz by in an instant. I create images, working on site and from life whenever possible, celebrating natural or man-made forms and patterns and color. My favorite subjects are from personal experience, celebrating the special places and creatures that nurture and inspire joy in myself and others. Though my artwork varies, a central theme is bringing the preciousness of our natural world to the viewing audience. I am also an architect, specializing in residential and green design, splitting my time between McCall and Boise, Idaho and wherever my curiosity takes me.
