Statement
“High Corona” is a play on the song title “My Sharona.” Instead of the crowns on the virus surface, the painting has Corona beer bottles dripping onto a round surface. The virus floats in a pinkish blood stream. The painting plays on the name of the virus causing some of us to find solace in liquid diversions.
An Idaho native, Kali began painting lessons while in grade school. She learned to express her talents in many mediums. It’s been over 45 years since Kali last exhibited her works. She hopes this show is the first of many exhibits in which she will participate. Kali gave “the first permission” that helped spark the start of Freak Alley Gallery in downtown Boise. She supports the arts in many forms: painting, drawing, drama, and other theatrical productions. Thank you for supporting the arts in our beautiful Treasure Valley.
