Tumbling to the St Joe
Watercolor is a natural medium for depicting the tumbling, creative forces of Falls Creek in remote northern Idaho. Both this painting, “Tumbling to the St Joe”, and the creek humbly begin with a single water molecule. The creek flows into The Shadowy St Joe River and ultimately into the Pacific. In the painting, nature fresh colors rush downward in my effort to represent the free-flowing magic of a clean mountain stream.
I have been a Teaching Artist for the Idaho Commission on the Arts for two decades, and more recently for Idaho Parents Unlimited, Inc. Helping students, K-12 and beyond, appreciate the marvels of life, helping them to express themselves creatively in drawings and paintings, has been a highlight of my long life.
