I hiked to Texas Pass at about 11,000 feet in the Wind River Range this year. This is the view from the pass, although I changed it from day to night. A few days after that hike I was awakened in my tent by the sound of a helicopter flying overhead, and I found out that it was evacuating a climber who had fallen the afternoon before. She was climbing Pingora Peak and fell while rappelling down. I imagined the night her friends spent while waiting for the medevac helicopter.
