Hi, my name is Cindy Herman. I currently live in Boise and I’m almost native to Idaho. When I was a little girl, I remember looking at my grandma‘s artwork she had hanging on her walls. I felt so inspired by her large landscape paintings.
My grandma Alma became widowed at the age of 46 with 9 kids to take care of. In spite of only having an eighth grade education, she got into college and pursued an education. Four years later she graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with her degree in Art and teaching. From there, she started teaching art at NNU and at Nampa Christian.
My only hope as a new artist is that I can inspire other artists and people in the community just as much as my grandma Alma did for me.
