About the artist
I practice the ancient Asian art of brush painting (sumi e), print-making (suminagashi), and Western collage. I studied with artist Ande Chen in Los Angeles for over 10 years. When I moved to Santa Barbara, California in 1992, I continued practicing these Asian arts and collage and became a member of the SB Art Association exhibiting my work in juried shows.
I moved to Boise in 2006 and currently study with artist Lois Yoshida in Tacoma/Seattle, Washington. I paint, take prints, and collage on rice papers using sumi and suminagashi inks and Chinese water colors. I mount my pieces primarily on masa paper (or other rice papers) using the traditional Asian mounting process.
