Artist Statement
Watching a master busy in their craft can be mesmerizing, and so it is with “Sergio”. His expertise and vision is amazing as he selects each stone, holds it in his hands and strikes it just once with his hammer. He uses such precision that the piece then fits perfectly into his puzzle of layered stone. Today his rugged work has all of my attention. Soon, the fireplace he is decorating will be the focus of all who are warmed by it. A long lived masterpiece, formed by an artist whose skill is honed by his passion for the work.
