Once in a Blue Moon
The Idiom “once in a blue moon” refers to something that doesn’t occur very often, but in fact, blue moons happen more often than one would think. I fell deeply in love this year, something that I believed was very rare. Come to find out blue moons happen every few years, so perhaps I will be falling in love every few years. The blue ocean is watery, like the tears I cried, full of deep emotion. The ups and downs like turbulent waves. This painting essentially represents my romantic love this past year. I am blue, like the moon.
Sunny Dawn has been making art for as long as she can remember. Early creations include books made from construction paper, unicorn calendars, and painted furniture from before the age of ten. Her basic painting techniques were developed throughout her high school years, as she learned daily from her art teacher. Throughout the years paintings would emerge from time to time; watercolors, acrylics, pastels, and now oils. She has refined her technique, and art has now become her full time profession, working from her studio in Garden City. She loves images that capture light, and enjoys painting people on commission.
