Artist Statement
I have been amused by the Bernie images in his blue mask all over the internet. They are bringing many pandemic -weary people chuckles. I like the way this politician has been a good sport about his image being used and it has ended up earning money for charities by Bernie -items sold. Some of these causes are Meals on Wheels and Make a Wish Foundation. You can imagine my delight when I found him sitting on my front porch in his famous garb, so I couldn’t resist painting his portrait.

Painting and drawing are my antidepressant and soul food. I enjoy capturing scenes of real life hoping to share these meaningful and precious moments with others. Many times I paint a landscape, person or buliding as a tribute to the beauty and life they represent.
