Am I Blue?

Generosity

Encaustic

Artist Statement

Generosity can be an effective tool in healing, coming together and understanding others.  Now is a time for being generous to build trust. Includes a raised paper clay form.

Got The Blues

Wherever I go I see them,
they soothe my soul, inspire me,
energize and excite, scare me,
this palette of liquid reminds me I’m alive
a range of hues delights my eyes.

Deep pool navy, no bottom visible blue
Foreboding dark blue, unending ocean blue
Blue-gray pre-storm ocean swells blue
Deep primrose cobalt spring blue

Clear sky, touching winter air blue
Big sky covering all you can see
ceiling of uninterrupted blue
Chattering bird on the pine tree blue
Blueberry scrumptious mouth watering blue

Robin egg summer sky blue
Middle Fork clear, pristine, lean over and see yourself blue
Caribbean blue, shimmering shallows over sand blue
Roger’s eyes, welcoming, tantalizingly teal blue

Baby blanket iris blue,
ice hosta in the shade of the spruce tree blue
Iridescent stripe on lizard’s belly blue
Opalescent antique vase blue

Icicles hanging from the eaves blue
melting snow stream bank blue
a promise of spring gray winter sky blue

Dark to light, the blues bless the earth,
Cool to my boiling day, churning mind.
Look to the sky and celebrate its vibrancy.
Look to the river and relish its vitality.
The blues giving life. I am engulfed.

Artist Bio

The colors found in nature provide an enormous range of hues.  Blue is present in much of what nurtures life on earth.  Blue is present in much of what my hands create.  I celebrate all colors, especially BLUE.
