Artist Statement
These are strange times. After almost six months of a pandemic I should be used to staying home and away from people but I am not. I miss exchanging smiles and hugging and being up close to friends and family. My paintings reflect this simpler time with symbols to express distancing and separation. For example numerous cloud formations in the painting ‘Clouds’ float in a blue sky and never touch. Rena Vandewater
My passion is color and oil painting. The result is hundreds of canvases I’ve created over the last 45 years. Most have been sold through galleries in Arizona, California and Idaho or through my web page – RenaVandewater.com. I’m included in many public and private collections across the United States and a few in Europe. My ideas spring from life: traveling, living on a farm and a vivid imagination. After my children were grown, I went back to school and earned a Masters of Fine Art degree. My work is harmonious and uplifting.
