Soft pastel, 20 x 16 (framed)
The pandemic and stay-at-home measures have brought the topic of isolation to the forefront. I am exploring family relationships and the everyday emotional isolation caused by misunderstandings, insecurities and poor communication.
Jill Storey is continually fascinated by the way a drawing first rises up from its paper, then settles back down and pulls her with it. She works primarily in pastel and draws a variety of subjects, including portraits, landscapes and urban scenes. Jill earned her BFA at Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame IN, and is a member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast, the Northwest Pastel Society, Boise Open Studios Collective and Treasure Valley Artists’ Alliance. Her work has been included in several juried and curated exhibitions and is held in private collections across the country.
