Wildflowers
Ink on mat board
Artist Statement
As a society we have the notion that a perfect and undamaged flower is the most beautiful. However, as an artist when walking through meadows covered with an abundance of wildflowers, I am drawn to the wilting, the trampled on, and the damaged flowers. It is their unique characteristics that make them the most beautiful and interesting to draw or paint. With this piece, I hope that others too will find beauty in the not perfect flower.

Heather Haley is an artist based in Boise, Idaho and has been fortunate enough to travel throughout the world. Heather has always had a deep appreciation for animals and nature as shown by her work. Growing up in Boise, she began drawing and painting before she could speak in full sentences. Art was her first language. Nature, wildlife, and the outdoors are dominate themes in her artwork. The inability to quench her thirst for adventure, and insatiable passion for wildlife, Heather uses vivid imagery to depict scenes from her imagination and experiences, which are prevalent in her work.
