Oil on Canvas
Artist Statement
I don’t do many still life paintings, but I recently acquired this pitcher and wanted to capture the lovely earth tones of it. The wooden container for the apples is one I purchased on a trip through New England. We were passing through the town of Colrain, Massachusetts, where my grandfather was born, and I found these bowls in a shop; They are hand turned from the local trees, so I could imagine it was from a tree my grandfather had passed or maybe even climbed in his day!
Artist Bio
I am a retired librarian, recently moved to the Boise area from Olympia Washington, where I was active in the Olympia Art League. Mostly self-taught in the artistic realm, I did take a few classes in drawing while living in Belgium, and there also studied oil painting under the artist, Beth Jepson.
