Abundance

Tree Woman: WINTER

Acrylic mixed media

Artist Statement

Abundance comes in many forms. Spending time in nature, taking in the beauty of plants and trees can save us. Trees are an important part of the abundance in our eco system, and what better way to honor our trees than to imbue them with the energy of woman. From the time I was small I felt the energy from trees. They spoke to me. They helped me feel safe. I felt connected to the power of the universe and all that may be included. I learned to listen and appreciate all the abundance trees could give.

Artist Bio

I’m an observer of people and nature. I haven’t been professionally trained as an artist, but started understanding colors from creating my gardens over the last 30 years. I started painting to stimulate my brain and help work through some health issues. I don’t usually have a composition in mind when I begin a painting, I just begin by spreading a color that moves me in the moment. Once I get into that “flow” a painting will reveal itself to me and will evolve. I enjoy painting in layers and hope to encourage others to begin a creative process.
