Collaborations
Tour de Fat 2011
On August 20, 2011 the Treasure Valley Artists' Alliance created an opportunity for artists and the public to collaborate on a 6 foot by 4 foot painting at our tent at Tour de Fat in Anne Morrison Park. This was modeled on our successful debut at TdF in 2010.
This year's painting of a bicycle by Terry Burkes was divided into 4 inch squares on which more than fifty people painted pictures answering the question where do you ride your bike? We could not have had such a wonderful collaboration without the assistance of our volunteers: Terry Burkes, Reham Aarti, Michael Chambers, Melissa Chambers, Kellie Cosho, Jaki Katz Ashford, Sue Latta, Sam McGinnis, Pam McKnight and Vicki Stevenson. See the wonderful result in our slideshow on the right. Ride On! |
Self Portrait Wall This is a virtual copy of our Self Portrait Wall from this year's Modern Art exhibit in downtown Boise on May 5, 2011. The piece is comprised of 48 panels. Each panel is twelve inches square and depicts a self-portrait created by a member of the artists' alliance. Hover over each image to see the artist's name! |
Modern Art 2010: The Video
Over half of the members of the Treasure Valley Artists' Alliance created paintings, photographs, collages, sculpture, fabric art, and assemblages for our first major collaborative piece.
Our artists created an art wall measuring 6 feet by 10 feet, comprised of self portraits, T's, V's, and A's. The artwork was installed at Modern Art 2010 at the Modern Hotel in Boise on First Thursday, May 6, 2010. Randy Miller created this video of the piece and some of the artists who played a role.
